EcoFlame B-543, a white powder with the chemical name of Tetrabromobisphenol A, is a brominated aromatic flame retardant used in thermoset and thermoplastic resin systems and generally used in the manufacture of flame retardant printed circuit boards, found in most electrical appliances. It is also used as an intermediate, to make other flame retardants, and brominated carbon/carbonate oligomers (that use TBBA as a raw material) are used to flame retard thermoplastic resin systems such as certain grades of polycarbonate (PC) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). EcoFlame B-543 has a molecular weight of 543.7, a moisture percent of 0.2 max, a melting point of 179 min, and an organic bromide of 58 min.
Unibrom Corp. is a world leader in the synthesis of specialty bromine compounds and polymer additives, as well as intermediate compounds. The vertical integration from raw material to processed compounds has made them the largest producer of brominated flame retardants in Weifang Ocean Chemical Development Zone. Their ammonium polyphosphate can be used in sealants and adhesives, polyurethane foam including PU rigid, flexible, and rigid integral skin foam for the adhesive and sealant industry.
