The pigment consists of mica coated with rutile titanium dioxide which can create red, violet, orange, gold, green and blue colors when the titanium dioxide layer differs in thickness. This is considered a physically optical interference phenomenon, caused by the light distance gap between the light reflected by the titanium dioxide and that reflected by the mica. Such interference pearls can display double colors with the light changes and observation points. It has applications in car surface and refinished paints, bicycle paints, interior and exterior wall paints as well as in gravure, screen and offset inks. 收起 | |
