Vinyl Acetate Monomer is used in polyvinyl acetate as an adhesive for paper, wood, non-woven fabrics, rug backing, and as a material in paint. It is used in polyvinyl alcohol as a laminating adhesive, and in emulsifying agents and films. VAM is used in vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride copolymers as packaging film, adhesives, paints, and paper coatings.
