It is soluble in water and easily soluble in aromatics and alcohol, but has little solubility in paraffin and olefin hydrocarbon. Sulfolane has high stability with hot acid and alkali. It doesn’t react with acid, alkali, sulfur, oralcohol at room temperature, and also doesn’t decompose and polymerize. When the temperature is higher than 240℃, the sulfolane will decompose SO2.
