Cream of Tartar 

Cream of Tartar (Potassium Tartrate) can be described as colorless crystals or white crystal powder with sweet and sour taste. It is sparingly soluble in water, freely soluble in dilute mineral acid, alkaline solution or borax solution and insoluble in acetic acid or ethanol. It is used as a capacity analytical reagent, buffer and reducing agent, and as a leavening agent in food industry.
