Vanillin 

Vanillin, Methyl Vanillin, or 4-Hydroxy-3-Methoxybenzaldehyde, is an organic compound with the molecular formula C8H8O3. Appearing as a white or lightly yellow solid, it is the primary component of the extract of the vanilla bean and is also found in roasted coffee. Due to excessive demand, most Vanillin is synthetically produced from guaiacol, a petrochemical raw material. Vanillin is used as a flavoring agent in a variety of food and beverage products.
