Glycin 

Glycin is a white crystalline powder that consists of amino and hydroxyl ions. It is sparingly soluble in water and most organic solvents and it is readily soluble in alkalies and acids. It is mainly used as a nutritional supplement and a sweetener additive in food products such as fruit juices, alcoholic beverages, and jams. It can also be used as a stabilizer in cream, cheese, margarine, and lard.
