Cinnamon Extract is a fine brown red powder produced from bark of the Cortex Cinnamomi Cassiae tree. Cinnamon is one of the worlds most commonly used spices and it is used in traditional Chinese medicine. Cinnamon extract has been shown to reduce fasting blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes due to its main component methylhydroxy chalcone polymer (MHCP)—which is believed to increase glucose metabolism. It can be used in supplements and is used to reduce cholesterol, promote glucose metabolism, protect gastric mucosa against damage, for lowing blood pressure and preventing blood clots and in strengthen the body's immune function.
