SYLOID® 72 FP is a synthetic, amorphous silica appearing as a white, free-flowing powder. It meets the test requirements for silicon dioxide as described in the latest edition of United States Pharmacopoeia/National Formulary (USP/NF) and for hydrated silicon dioxide as described in the latest edition of Japanese Pharmaceutical Excipients. SYLOID® 72FP also meets the test requirements of the latest edition of the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC).
SYLOID® 72 FP silica is a moderate pore volume silica gel with large internal surface area. It has a strong affinity for moisture across a broad range of moisture levels and also for organic based liquids. SYLOID® 72 FP silica can adsorb up to 1.1 ml of liquid per gram. SYLOID® 72 FP silica is recommended as a glidant and tabletting aid for pharmaceutical products and as a carrier and rheology modifier for liquid products, particularly where moisture control is also a concern.
