Used in cosmetics, Frankincense Serrata essential oil is used for treatment of cystitis, inflammations, irregular menstrual bleeding, nosebleed, rheumatic complaint of joints and firming of aged skin. The essential oil has significant inhibitory activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Proteus mirabilis. The essential oil of Frankincense serrata shows also good antifungal activity against both Candida.
