The product was designed specifically for the coating of plastic substrates. In addition the use in the formulation of PVC floor coatings, the binder exhibits a high grade property profile on a variety of substrates. Filler and topcoat applications (one and two-component) are also plausible. Other possibilities are wood and furniture applications. Bayhydrol UH 2606 yields coatings with good leveling, chemical and weather stabilities. They are also characterized by a tough but flexible property profile. Very good combinations are possible with polyester, polyurethane and acrylic dispersions, and combinations with waterborne UV systems are possible. Bayhydrol® UH XP 2592 does not contain any cosolvents, no anti skinning agents and no driers and is therefore label-free. Coatings based on this resin show a quick drying and after drying a quite high hardness. After curing over night a very good water-resistance is achievable. High-gloss coatings, however, need a certain amount of suitable co-solvents and additional amine in the formulation. Bayhydrol® UH XP 2592 can be used as universal resin for high-gloss top coats, effect coats and - due to its excellent anti-corrosion properties – as raw material for primers and single coats. 收起

This product is especially suitable for 3C plastic applications e.g. mobile phones and laptops where high performance coatings are required. The addition of 1.0 to 2.5 wt. photoinitiator relative to binder has proven effective for initiation. Viscosity is adjusted by the addition of polyurethane thickeners. As the dispersion has a relatively high surface tension, the formulation should always contain a wetting agent, such as BYK® 348 (BYK). This product has a methoxyhydroquinone content of 50 ± 5ppm, an acid number of < 0.02mg KOH/g, and a refractive index @ 20°C of 1.51. It can be used as a co-monomer in PMMA based acrylic formulations to increase the impact resistance, hydrophobicity and structural integrity of resins, composites and coatings. It is also particularly useful as a replacement for styrene in unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins used in a wide range of applications including chemical fixings and composites.
