Spectrastat™ CGE Natural MB is ideal for personal care products as an alternative to parabens, phenoxyethanol, MIT or other preservatives that may be undesirable. The novel blend of Caprylhydroxamic Acid with Caprylyl Glyceryl Ether, a light emollient, creates a complete broad spectrum system that effectively controls bacteria, yeast, and mold over a broad pH range from pH 4 – 8 with a typical use level of 1.5 – 2.5% (w/w). Spectrastat™ CGE Natural MB has been demonstrated to be an effective in cleansing compositions, emulsions, wipes lotions and color cosmetics. Spectrastat™ PG is a multi-functional agent that provides antimicrobial control in cosmetic and personal care products. Spectrastat™ PG contains no biocides or traditional preservatives. It creates a fungistatic environment that prevents growth of microorganisms. It is primarily effective against yeast & mold and can be combined with a bacteria control agent, like Lexgard Natural GC88 MB (Glyceryl Caprylate) or Lexgard® O (Caprylyl Glycol) for broad spectrum protection. Spectrastat™ PG is effective over a broad pH range from pH 4 - 8 with a typical use level of 1.0 - 2.0% (w/w). Spectrastat™ PG is cold processable and water soluble and can be used in emulsion, anhydrous, and surfactant systems. These include creams, lotions, shower gels, and color cosmetics. It may be added to the water phase, at ambient or hot temperatures, or may be added post-emulsification of O/W emulsions. view less
