Maltobionic acid shares antioxidant, moisturizing, and mild properties with lactobionic acid but lacks the sticky skin feel associated with lactobionic acid. The pH of the human skin surface is around 5. The pH of cosmetic formulations that is too high or too low may affect the skin barrier function or cause skin irritation. As some cosmetic ingredients tend to be more acidic or alkaline, pH adjusters are needed to bring the pH of the cosmetic product to the specified value. Maltobionic acid, being an acidic substance, can be applied in cosmetic products for pH adjustment. Anallerg®-NFA (Maltobionic acid) is non-allergenic and non-irritating to the human skin. view less
