Lexgard® E is a multifunctional humectant that can aid the preservation of cosmetic formulations by creating a biostatic environment that prevents growth of microorganisms. Lexgard® E is primarily effective against bacteria and can be combined with a yeast & mold control agent, like Spectrastat™ CHA (Caprylhydroxamic Acid) for broad spectrum protection. Lexgard® E is an emollient, moisturizer and wetting agent which can be used in cosmetic emulsion systems such as skin care creams and lotions or in surfactant based products such as shower gels, facial cleansers and shampoos. Lexgard® E can also provide odor control in deodorant applications and an anti-soaping effect in emulsions. Lexgard® E (Ethylhexylglycerin) is listed in the China FDA IECIC inventory. view less

Lexgard® O is a humectant that can also boost or aid the preservation of cosmetic formulations. It can be used in combination with certain ingredients to achieve self-preserving formulations. Lexgard® O creates a biostatic environment that prevents growth of microorganisms. It is primarily effective against bacteria and can be combined with a yeast & mold control agent, like Spectrastat™ CHA (Caprylhydroxamic Acid) for broad spectrum protection. Lexgard® O melts at approximately 30°C to 35°C and contributes a smooth, dry sensory characteristic to skincare products. Lexgard® O is a multi-functional emollient, moisturizer, and wetting agent which can be used in cosmetic emulsion systems such as skin care creams and lotions or in surfactant based products such as shower gels, facial cleansers, and shampoos. It is recommended that Lexgard® O be used at concentrations of 0.5% - 1.0% w/w. When used in emulsions, it is recommended that it be incorporated into the water phase. Lexgard® O is also soluble in oils and may be used in anhydrous formulas. Lexgard® O (Caprylyl Glycol) is listed in the China FDA IECIC inventory. view less
