Native to Southeast Asia and the Far East, the orange tree is a fruit tree belonging to the Rutaceae family. Orange bark is widely used today to obtain orange wax by mechanical processes. Orange wax is a complex mixture of esters, free fatty acids, hydrocarbons, phytosterols, and free alcohols. Its composition and consistency are close to those of lanolin: orange wax is an ideal vegetal substitute and is perhaps used in many formulations. view less
