It is used to preserve the freshness and integrity of products such as lotions, hair care, shower gel, body wash, antiperspirants, deodorants, wipes, mouthwash, toothpaste, emulsions, ointments, and insect bite relief lotions. LANXESS also produces benzyl alcohol in a parenteral grade. All grades are produced using the highest standards for quality and sustainability, including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. It can be used as an alternative to parabens, phenoxyethanol, MIT or other preservatives that may be undesirable. Lexgard® NAP is a multi-functional emollient and moisturizer blend which can be used in skin care creams and lotions, or in surfactant-based products such as shower gels, facial cleansers, and shampoos. It is recommended that Lexgard® NAP be used at concentrations of 0.7 - 1.0% w/w. When Lexgard® NAP is used in emulsions, it is recommended that it be incorporated into the water phase. Lexgard® NAP is also soluble in oils and may be used in anhydrous formulas.
