The ripe fruit contains a wide pool of sugars and Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (mainly malic acid), tannins, proteins, starch, etc. Carbohydrates belong to the Natural Moisturizer Factors, alpha hydroxy acids remove dead cells from the upper skin resulting in a fresh, good-looking complexion. Tannins protect the skin and the hair against UV induced damages.
