It is an emollient, moisturizer, viscosity builder, opacifier, surfactant, and nonionic emulsifier and co-emulsifier for oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions. It has an HLB of about 3-7 and can be combined with other emulsifiers to achieve any required HLB. ETHOXCARE® GMS Pure is useful in a wide range of personal care products and cosmetics in the pH range of about 5-9. In hair and skin care products it provides lubricity. In skin care products it provides occlusive properties which help prevent moisture loss and promote skin hydration while leaving the skin feeling soft and smooth. view less

ETHOXCARE® HCO-50 is a surfactant that is 100% active nonionic, the polyethylene glycol ether of hydrogenated castor oil with an average of 50 repeating units of ethylene glycol. It can be used in combination or combined with other surfactants to achieve any required HLB. Since It is completely saturated, it is more stable and lighter in color than the analogous unsaturated castor oil materials. It is useful as an emulsifier for making oil-in-water emulsions but specific members of this series also have additional benefits. ETHOXCARE® HCO-50 is useful as a detergent and solubilizer. ETHOXCARE® HCO surfactants conform to a specification of 1ppm max for residual ethylene oxide and 10ppm max for 1,4-dioxane and are all palm-oil free. view less
