Refined Peanut Oil N.F.

Refined Peanut Oil N.F., overall oil resulting from the seed kernels of one or more of the cultivated assortments of Archis Hypogaea Linn, is a pale gold and slightly flavored with the richness of peanuts. In the U.S., the oil is extracted by cleaning the nuts and passing them through shellers or hullers to separate the kernels. The kernels, containing 48 to 56 percent of oil, are then “crushed, heated, and pressed hot in hydraulic presses”. Refined vegetable oils are for coatings, ink, paint, lubricant, and adhesive industries. Refined Peanut Oil N.F. has a specific gravity between the ranges of 0.912 to 0.920 at 25°C, a saponification value of 185 to 195, and a refractive index between the ranges of 1.462 to 1.464 at 40°C.
