Borchi® Gol LA 2 is characterized by good binder compatibility and is particularly suitable for chemically curing finishing paints like hydroxyl bearing polyacrylates and polyesters, primarily polyester melamine or epoxy systems. It also supports levelling in physically curing finishes based on long-, middle and short chain alkyds and polyacrylates. This product is especially recommended in systems where solvent-free additives or certain solvents are required. It has a minor λmax located in 374 nm, and therefore, it is also ideal for white-pigmented systems. Basically, a percentage of 1 – 3 % of Doublecure® 1256 is effective for lacquer preparation. If the resin is made of polyester, there is no need for coinitiators. However, due to its sensitivity toward oxygen inhibition, additional coinitiators such as Doublecure® 184 or 173 is highly recommended for pigmented acrylic finishes. If the yellowing is not concerned, amine synergist such as Doublecure® EPD or 115,225 is also beneficial to the throughcure. Owing to its absorption of light in the long wave UV region, Doublecure® 1256 and lacquers produced from it are daylight-sensitive. Therefore, light with wavelength less than 500 nm must be excluded during storage and processing. view less
