Its performance and value make it a viable replacement to higher-volatility coalescents such as TMPDMIB (2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol monoisobutyrate) or even low-VOC types such as triethylene glycol di-2-ethylhexanoate. It is highly recommended for interior and exterior latex paints, industrial coatings, nitrocellulosic and acrylic lacquers, and special purpose coatings.
