Busan® 1130 is a nonmetal, nonformaldehyde contributing bactericide for use in water-based paints, adhesives, waxes, and polishes. The product is allowed for use under 21 CFR § 176.170 and 176.300 of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations. Emulsion-based paints and adhesives are subject to bacterial deterioration in the container. Busan® 1130 has been specifically designed to provide protection against this type of bacterial attack. The product may be used at levels between 0.3%–1.5%, based on total weight of the emulsion. Testing is recommended to determine the level required to adequately protect the system.
