It is especially used to improve mechanical properties of unsaturated polyesters and acrylic polymers such as acrylic sheet and acrylic flooring. This product has a total polymerisable monomers of 99% min., a molecular weight (av) of 286g/mol, and an inhibitor (MEHQ) content of 250-400ppm. Bisomer® TEGDMA is an excellent reactive diluent in peroxide curable formulations due to its low viscosity and ease of handling. It is non-toxic, non-sensitising and non-irritating. It is ideal in dibenzoyl peroxide (BPO) cured applications and excellent for use in the production of UV cured photopolymers such as flexographic printing plates. It is widely used in photopolymers, wire and cable coatings, adhesives and sealants. Bisomer® BDDMA is an excellent reactive diluent in UV curable wood coatings due to its low viscosity. It is ideal in peroxide cured applications such as a co-agent for PP, PE, nitrile, EPDM rubbers and PVC. It offers excellent properties with PMMA, especially in acrylic flooring and synthetic marble. The OH terminated polyester chains are DMPA® Dimethylolpropionic acid initiated polycaprolactone. The combination of both hydroxyl and carboxyl functionality produces unique benefits and versatility. The acid group promotes water dispersability of the resin after neutralisation with a base or can improve adhesion to difficult substrates. This product has a melting point (DSC) of 59.3°C, a non-volatile content of 99% wt. min., a viscosity @ 60°C of 800-1000cP, and an acid equivalent weight of 935-1122g/eqv. Since no DMPA is required to formulate water dispersible pre-polymers, NMP may be reduced or eliminated from the formulations. Pre-polymers formulated with DICAP® products have very good solubility in monomers for hybrid applications and in acetone for solvent-free PUDs. Depending on the molecular weight of the DICAP® polyol and the formulating technique, hard films can be formulated for durable coatings or soft urethane polymers can be formulated for coating textiles and leathers. This product has a methoxyhydroquinone content of 50 ± 5ppm, an acid number of < 0.02mg KOH/g, and a refractive index @ 20°C of 1.51. It can be used as a co-monomer in PMMA based acrylic formulations to increase the impact resistance, hydrophobicity and structural integrity of resins, composites and coatings. It is also particularly useful as a replacement for styrene in unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins used in a wide range of applications including chemical fixings and composites.
