It is especially suited for the dispersion of inorganic pigments. This straw colored liquid is a solution of a sodium salt of an acrylic copolymer in water. The copolymer is manufactured to a relatively narrow molecular weight distribution thus resulting in a consistent product quality with maximum effectiveness. The special copolymer backbone is designed for complete compatibility with polypropylene and hexylene glycols used in high proportions in water-borne high gloss coatings to promote wet edge time. view less

The product is especially suited for the dispersion of inorganic pigments. DISPEX® AA 4140 is a solution of a sodium salt of an acrylic polymer in water. This straw colored liquid is effective over a pH range 5-12 and up to temperatures in excess of 100°C. Compared with inorganic dispersing agents, e.g. polyphosphate products, the organic polymer based DISPEX® N40 provides improved storage stability of both the pigment dispersion and the formulated paint. There is little or no adverse reaction to high temperatures or pH changes. view less

It is also a gelling aid for organically modified bentonite. This product is a 50% solution of an electroneutral salt of a polycarboxylic acid with amine derivatives dissolved in higher aromatics. EFKA® FA 4663 is an almost universally applicable additive for nonaqueous coatings. It has proved its value in particular in systems based on alkyd resins, alkyd/melamine resins, acrylic and epoxy resins, chlorinated rubber, linseed oil/stand oil, etc. If some linear binders which contain hydroxyl groups (e.g. Desmophen® types from Bayer)are used with our product, thixotropy can occur. view less

It is a solution of vinyl polymer in organic solvents. EFKA® PB 2001 is used in nitrocellulose lacquers, particularly those applied on curtain coaters, 1- or 2-component acid curing wood coatings, particularly fast drying types applied on curtain coaters, acrylic resin finishes, air drying epoxy resin paints and unsaturated polyester. The paint industry uses defoamers to ensure that air bubbles occurring during application of lacquers and paints can escape from the film while still wet. The formation of craters is thus substantially eliminated. One must differentiate between: bubbles which originate from the substrate (wood and paper are typical examples), and bubbles which may be generated in the paint by pumping, rolling, airless spraying or curtain coating. view less
