Because of their polar nature, proteins easily bind water molecules through hydrogen bonds. When superficial moisturizing is involved, this action is almost not influenced by the molecular weight; however, if penetration and moisturizing of deeper skin layers is required, short-chain peptides – with lower molecular weights – are more effective. Proteins protect the hair from environmental damage, repair and condition it, increase elasticity and reduce the risk of breakage. The seaweed contains 10-12% water and cont...view more Polyplant A/C HGL - MS is a complex of vegetable extracts containing the following plants: Seaweed, Ivy, Bitter Orange and Rosemary, with plant/extract ratio is 1/2 and the solvent medium Propylene Glycol/water. The seaweed contains 10-12% water and contains 15% mineral salts (0.3-0.8% iodine and appreciable quantities of potassium), 1-2% fatty acids and fucosterol, 4-5% proteins and 65% condensed carbohydrates, basically algin or alginic acid and also a certain amount of cellulose. The chemical composition of Ivy is made up of polyphenolic compounds: flavonoids (rutin, nicotifloroside), caffeic and chlorogenic acids. Bitter orange contains 4-5% mineral salts, organic acids (citric and malic), 5-8% flavonoids (hesperidoside, naringoside) and 1-2% essential oil (limonene and terpenic alcohols). Rosemary contains polyphenolic derivatives, essential oils and triterpenic derivates.
