It is used in cosmetic formulations to protect colors and fragrances from photodegradation. Uvasorb®MET has excellent solubility in aromatic solvents and in some polar solvents. It is slightly soluble in alcohols and practically insoluble in water. Labeled as Oxybenzone it is allowable up to 6.0% in sunscreen formulations in North America. view less

Uvasorb S5 is often used as a colorant stabilizer for water based products such as styling gels, sprays, shampoos, bath gels, and fine fragrances.
