The resulting polyricinoleic acid (PRA) is oxidatively stable and non-volatile with an amorphous structure. ChemSperse™ is readily biodegradable with an ISO 16128 Natural Index of 1. ChemSperse™ excels as a particle dispersant, showcasing effective wetting and dispersant stability. The polar structure interacts well with particles by effectively coating them, specifically favorable to iron oxides. Additionally, the high molecular weight and branched structure creates steric hinderance between particles which creates more stability in the dispersion, preventing agglomeration. Due to the amorphous structure, ChemSperse™ will not crystallize, even in repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The low temperature fluidity and consistency make this material very easy to work with and store. No special heating or mixing required.
