Chlorhexidine Digluconate (CHG) is a low-foaming, broad spectrum antiseptic. Its mechanism of action involves destabilization of the outer bacterial membrane. It is effective on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria making it an excellent cationic cosmetic preservative. Also known as, simply, Chlorhexidine Gluconate.
