Enoxolone (18-β-Glycyrrhetinic Acid)

Enoxolone (18-β-Glycyrrhetinic Acid) is obtained from the roots of the licorice plant (Glycyrrhiza glabra L and/or of Glycyrrhiza inflata Bat. and/or of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch) by extraction and purification methods. This product appears as a white or almost-white crystalline powder that is practically insoluble in water, and soluble in ethylene and propylene glycol. It is also slightly soluble in vegetable oil. Enoxolone (18-β-Glycyrrhetinic Acid) can be used in the treatment of affections of the upper respiratory tract, such as aphonia and pharyngitis, and can be used to treat buccal inflammatory infections and sensitive gums.
