AQUATIX® 8421

AQUATIX® 8421 is a non-ionic emulsion of a modified Ethylene-Vinyl-Acetate (EVA) copolymer wax. It improves the rheological properties and brilliance of effect pigment slurries that are co-solvent-free. This product provides the following properties: improves effect pigment orientation, reduces cloudiness /mottling, shows less sensivity to co-solvents in coating systems compared to PU based thickeners, is “ready to use”, provides easy handling and incorporation compared to clays or acrylic thickeners, and excellent anti-settling properties in coatings during storage and application.

Company

BYK has an established history of innovation such as being the first additive manufacturer to begin using Controlled Polymerization Technology (CPT), launching the first rheology-modified wax emulsion, and being one of the first companies to use nanotechnology for improving Coatings properties. BYK invests approximately 7.5% of its earnings in R&D—three times more than the industry average.
