Almonds

Almonds are the nut fruit of the almond tree. This product has a brown skin with a light-yellow to white meat, having a slightly sweet taste and nutty texture characteristic to almonds. Compared to other types of nuts, natural almonds have a relatively low fat content with approx. 50% fat. Natural almonds also have an excellent anti-oxidative potential due to their high contents of vitamin E, flavonoids, and phenolic acids. They can be eaten on their own, as a topping, in fruit mixtures, muesli, fruit and cereal bars, or as a constituent of marzipan.
