Additionally, it is an excellent emollient for use in all bath, cream and lotion preparations. Alkamuls® EGDS 504/V is introduced to a personal care preparation by melting it in-situ at 70–75°C with good agitation until it is completely melted and well mixed in the preparation. The preparation is then cooled gradually with moderate agitation until opacity and/or pearlescence develops. It is dispersible in water without any external surfactant. During application, the product releases tocopherol through the controlled breakage of some capsules when rubbed onto the skin.
