Food Industry Expert Jill Frank flagged this story as one that food formulators should note. According to an article from the AP this week, “after 20 years, the nutrition facts label on the back of food packages is getting a makeover.”
While the new guidelines have not been released, the article cites several experts on the changes they’ve speculated may be on the new label. These include a shift away from measuring in grams and a change in focus to calorie listings instead of fat.
